Abstract
The authors introduce a new communication interface, the switch-computer service interface (SCSI) which provides a standard interface for the interworking between communication switches and host computers. Such an interface will widen the spectrum of accessible value-added services across communication networks. As a result, SCSI allows the implementation of a variety of computer-based telecommunications applications. For example, users would be able to select and connect to a variety of information services using a single interactive access device. SCSI is formally specified in Estelle which is one of ISO´s standard formal description techniques
