Abstract :
The super-exponential algorithm is a useful block-based technique for blind equalization of communication channels. The original algorithm may be modified to allow recursive updating using smaller blocks, thus improving its tracking performance. This paper discusses the most relevant features of a hardware-oriented version of the fractionally-spaced recursive algorithm using a multichannel lattice filter. Its highly modular scalar structure is well suited for implementation using parallel DSP hardware, and it may readily benefit from multiple arithmetic units that are integrated inside modern DSP chips
