Abstract :
Generating test sequences automatically from a specification has been the most difficult and time-consuming work in the field of protocol conformance testing, especially taking into account both the data flow portion and the control flow portion of implementation under test (IUT). The authors present a method to generate test sequences based on the model called the normal extended finite-state machine model which makes the conditions and variables used in the state transition externally controllable. Algorithms to generate test sequence which covers both data and control portion of UIT are given. As an example, the proposed technique is applied to a class 0 transport protocol TPO specification
