Abstract :
This paper describes the basic characteristics of a five-level inverter with two DC choppers used in a vector control system for induction motor drives. The control strategy is based on the space vector PWM method. The inverter system using the proposed control method for drive applications eliminates the problem of voltage imbalance in DC link capacitors. Experiments were carried out with a vector control system that uses a 3.7 kW induction motor. The experimental results demonstrate the validity of the proposed inverter system and control method
