Abstract :
The characteristics of microstrip patch antennas on uniaxial anisotropic substrates are presented. The analysis was developed in the Fourier domain, by using a combination of the Hertz vector potentials and Galerkin method, to determine the resonant frequency and the Q-factor. The radiation pattern is obtained by using the phase stationary condition. In the anisotropic material, the optical axis orientation is considered to be along the microstrip main axes. For particular cases, the results are in agreement with those available in the literature
