Abstract
A study of the stand-alone mode of operation for cross-flow-water-turbine-based generation systems is presented in this paper. This system is considered to feed a mainly resistive load via a power electronics interface which allows the use of advanced integrated controls. It should guarantee the imposed voltage parameters in the absence of energy storage elements. Experimental tests have been performed in order to validate the control loop responses and the operating strategy of the turbines.
