  • Abstract
A sophisticated version of the ferrite head is the composite head. This component has several characteristics that are needed in a recording head. The design, fabrication and the application of the composite head are reviewed. The author discusses how miniature coil winding techniques have provided reliability and longevity to a critical component in disk drive technology
