Abstract :
The general approach for analyzing the bit error probability of the receiver for a general MPSK signal set also obtains the bit error probability of differentially encoded MPSK transmission of the convolutionally coded symbols, the differential detection decoding metric being used at the receiver. Numerical performance results obtained using a first-order Butterworth fading process model show significant performance improvement of MPSK modulation with channel estimation over MDPSK modulation with differential detection
