Abstract :
In this paper, authors propose a new hybrid type self-powered active suspension system for ground vehicles. System is composed of an electronic control unit (ECU), a power electronics module, and electric double-layer capacitor (EDLC) bank, a permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) and a hydro-electro-mechanical (hybrid) actuator. In ECU, a novel energy-based optimal control method has been applied to control the system. Computer simulations show that the proposed system has superior suspension characteristics than the conventional systems with viscous dampers.
