Abstract
We show that the piston motion-based two dimensional (2D) analog micromirror device in our proposed form is an interferometric multi-wavelength 2×2 fiber-optic switch. We show our proposed retroreflective multi-wavelength 2×2 fiber-optic switch structure based on a Michelson interferometer and micromirror motion. The advantage of using this interferometric technique is the small distance (<1μm) high speed motion of the mirrors to introduce the required half wave (or n) phase shift for switching
