Abstract :
The ever increasing operating frequencies of power converters, and the resulting compactness in their layouts, has led to EMI problems of a magnitude never seen before. This paper presents the mathematical theory behind the EM wave propagation in power electronic circuits which forms the basis of EMI problems in these circuits. A better understanding of the underlying theory leads to better preventive methods. Various sections of a given circuit can be modeled as antennas and represented mathematically. Results of this investigation are presented. A general algorithm is also included to determine the EMI. Key theoretical results are experimentally verified
