Abstract
The authors propose a new synchronous acquisition method for frequency hopping spread spectrum communication. They show that, the synchronous acquisition time with the new method is shorter than that one with `the sliding correlation method´, under the special condition that the signal power is enough large to be detected. They describe the proposed method for synchronous acquisition, and show that the synchronous acquisition time is bounded, and its expectation is evaluated with the new method. They also report the result of experiment and the possibility of shortening the synchronous acquisition time
