Abstract
In this paper, a new concept for photovoltaic MOS drivers is presented providing fast switching speed for power MOS devices. Control signal encoding allows the continuous transfer of optical energy, a storage capacitor provides active low impedance gate control and allows the implementation of additional features like protection, zero voltage or zero current switching. The principle of operation and experimental results are presented
