Abstract
Power is generated across Alberta, Canada, by three major electric utilities and by independent power producers such as cogenerators and wind power producers. The author describes how, in 2001, competition will be enhanced when independent marketers are given the right to market the output of generating units built under regulation. An overview of this restructuring process is outlined in this paper
