Abstract
A double-sided dual-band bow-tie antenna with two arms printed on top and bottom of dielectric substrate of epsivr=2.2 is proposed to operate at both the CDMA/GSM band ranging from 800 MHz to 960 MHz and the mobile 3G /WiFi/WiMAX band ranging from 1.7 GHz to 2.69 GHz. The two arms of the bow-tie are overlapped to tune the operation band and designed to be asymmetrical for beam tilt. To cover the potential mobile 2.6 GHz WiMAX band, the impedance matching structure is carefully improved and optimized by numerical simulation software. Quasi-omnidirectional radiation patterns, reasonable gain values and beam tilt as required in the GSM/CDMA and 3G/WiFi/WiMAX repeater are proposed.
