Abstract
In this paper, a new distributed clustering algorithm for mobile ad hoc networks, named as DCCS (Distributed Clustering Algorithm Based on delta- Cluster Stability) is proposed. The cluster stability of node, which is defined in this paper, is applied to clustering for mobile ad hoc networks. This algorithm is implemented on the ns2 environment, and compared with classical Lowest-ID clustering algorithm and Highest Degrees clustering algorithm. The results of simulation on ns2 simulator show that the proposed algorithm can improve efficiently clustering performances in terms of the number of clusterhead, and the number of reaffiliations per unit time.
