Abstract
This paper presents a method for the evaluation of the bit error probability (performance) of the UWB system in a time hopping binary pulse position ultra-wideband modulation scheme (TH BPPM-UWB) in the presence of an AWGN channel. This performance was illustrated using an analytical method based on the evaluation of the bit error probability versus signal to noise ratio (SNR). We have extended the method used in a one path or one user environment to the multipath and multi-user environments simultaneously and a comparison was made between both. We will also study different pulse waveforms applicable in the context of UWB to see the characteristics of each one and the contribution they can provide when used in UWB applications.
