Abstract
Discharge of AA, C and CC-size Li/SOCl2 cells was carried out under constant resistive load. At intervals during discharge, the cells were allowed to rest, and the capacitance and the internal resistance of the cells measured. An inverse proportionality between available discharge capacity and cell internal resistance was observed. The effect of accelerated cell aging, of depth of discharge, of electrolyte concentration, and of cell size on this proportionality was studied. The results are presented in detail
