Abstract :
The behavioural response of a frequency offset retrodirective antenna array in the presence of multiple signals at different frequencies is investigated. It is shown that when separate frequency sources exist, the re-transmitted beam of the retrodirective array will split into multiple beams, with each re-transmitted beam forming in the direction of the respective incoming source frequency. Measurements were performed on the retrodirective array in the presence of two closely spaced sources operating at frequencies within the bandwidth of the array and it is shown that the retrodirective array can simultaneously respond to each individual signal proving its usefulness in mobile wireless applications where multiple signal tracking is required.
