Abstract
An efficient method of moments algorithm is described using curved segmentation to model printed eccentric spiral antennas, which is then run under a genetic algorithm optimisation routine to design antennas with specific performance attributes. The efficiency of the electromagnetic code keeps CPU times manageable throughout the many runs required in the optimisation procedure. Results are presented here for an antenna optimised for gain, axial ratio and beam squint.
