Abstract :
A new method is proposed to suppress the differential-to-common mode conversion of bend discontinuity for differential signaling. Slow-wave sections are utilized for the inner line to compensate the length difference from the outer one. By properly selecting the geometry, a significant reduction of 87.5% can be achieved for the time-domain differential-to-common mode transmission response while the magnitudes of differential-mode and differential-to-common mode reflections are kept small. The differential-mode transmission is improved by 4 dB at 10 GHz. The method has been demonstrated by the simulated and measured results of the fabricated prototype.
