Abstract :
The stochastic model introduced by Niemeyer, Pietronero, and Wiesmann (NPW model) intuitively relates the growth of stochastic processes such as diffusion limited aggregates and electrical treeing in dielectrics to the strength of the applied electric field (1984). The NPW model incorporates a tuning parameter η that modifies the effect of the field gradient, thus allowing tuning to specific stochastic processes. Tuning the NPW model to actual examples of DLAs and Lichtenberg figures shows there are limitations
