Abstract
In order to maximize system capacity in a dual-hop regenerative relay system under certain power cost, the concept of power price is proposed, which is determined by the different fashions of power supply at the nodes, and power cost is defined explicitly. According to the analysis below, the allocation of power cost is determined by the channel gains and power prices, and the system capacity is formulated in light of the power cost allocation. Numerical results show that optimal power cost allocation is indispensable for relay systems with inconsistent power prices from the angle of power cost.
