Abstract
Metal materials may degrade the performances of RFID systems by changing the characteristics of antennas, which result in a short read range. Different from other studies managing to design special antenna surfaces to minish metal effects, this paper gives a deployment method which only changes the gap between the antenna and metal, and adds some medium to integrate them. By adjusting the gap´s thickness, metal effect is lessened and large gain is gained. Thus may improve the tag´s read range. Finite element method (FEM) is used to simulate the tag´s performance. Finally, theory analyses are also given.
