Abstract :
A mode-matching technique in conjunction with Galerkin´s method has been applied to study multilayered microstrip lines with an indented ground or with a shielding cross-section of arbitrary shape. The unified procedure developed in the rectangular coordinate system can handle both cylindrical and rectilinear structures. Numerical results, such as the capacitance matrices, or the effective dielectric constants and the characteristic impedances, of some sample structures are computed.
