Abstract :
A low profile antenna/pedestal system for the Milstar program was developed at Raytheon under an Air Force contract. The system was designed to have minimum intrusion inside the aircraft and no protrusion outside the aircraft so that the radome is flush to the fuselage. The main drivers of this antenna design include low cost, minimum height, and high efficiencies for both K-band (20.2-21.2 GHz) and Q-band (43.5-45.5 GHz).
