Abstract :
the In this article, we discuss focusing properties of conducting and dielectric cylinders on the basis of the Fresnel zone principle. The radiation patterns when the cylinders are excited with an isotropic source are evaluated using the boundary element method. Helix antennas combined with a Fresnel zone plate are also reported. Enhanced gain characteristics are experimentally demonstrated.
