  • Abstract
    Timely and understandable access to system maintenance information is key to both system diagnosis and diagnostic maturation. Implementation of effective, generalized approaches to access and integration of maintenance information has proven to be difficult to implement and accomplish. This is primarily due to the inherent difficulties in assembling the information elements necessary to support computational solutions. Ongoing work at the Boeing Company in the field of mediated information integration has led to the development of a system that addresses these issues. This paper describes the underlying technology of the system, as well as development challenges. The ideas presented will support the case that the subject system provides a flexible, growth-oriented approach to the capture and integration of heterogeneous aerospace maintenance information in support of system diagnosis and diagnostic maturation
