  • Abstract
    Sports prediction is an important part of sports statistics. With the development of interdisciplinary integration, such as the computing technology and the gray system, etc, there are some flaws in the scopes of its theory exploring, applied research and methods. Using literature methods and statistics methods, the essay analyzed the characters and development tendency on sports prediction research papers during the 1980~2010 in China. The paper showed the primary domain and its percent. Prediction method research and international interchange is very weaker. Sports prediction research methods have developed the process of qualitative analysis combined with quantitative analysis research from previous qualitative analysis, but prediction research method still exist three problems. Sports forecasting theory system has not been perfected yet, the range of research and application is narrower, especially the horizontal topic forecast research and interdisciplinary research are scarce, and the predicting precision of models and its versatility is not high.
