  • Abstract
    IEEE 802.16 systems adopt a "semi-dynamic" allocation mechanism of channel quality indicator (CQI) channels. However, low utilization ratio of CQI channels reduces the spectrum efficiency. So we propose three adjusting strategies based on a "toy brick model" to improve the utilization ratio of CQI channels. The simulation results manifest the improvement. In addition, we analyze the tradeoff between the increase of utilization ratio and the increase of signaling overhead.
