  • Abstract
There are basically three different perspectives on communication. From one perspective communication entails transmission of information from a sender to a receiver. Thus, there is information flow through a channel or medium which can result in receiver knowledge gain. In this perspective, communication is conceptualized as a flow. The second perspective suggests that the communication is a process of interaction. This process is composed of mainly symbolic exchanges serving to share the same meanings as well as to establish the consensus among us. Thirdly, the process of communication is highly determined by social relations and sometimes is intended to develop other new relationships. In this perspective, communication is conceived as relational. In this paper, several issues are treated primarily from the third perspective
