Abstract
Presents a general approach for a systematic generation of current-mode (CM) 2nd order RC oscillators using single-in-diff-out (SIDO) and single-in-single-out (SISO) ideal current amplifiers as active-blocks. This approach is an extension to CM of the method employed by Sidorowicz [1972] for the generation of voltage-mode based oscillators. The CM oscillators, particularly using current conveyor as active elements, show a better performance with respect to the counterpart of the op amps. For practical reasons, only oscillators that have either two earthed capacitances or two earthed resistances are considered
