Abstract
Recent research has shown that chirp spread spectrum (CSS) is an attractive technology in broadband wireless communications and the single carrier frequency domain equalization (SC-FDE) is widely used in practical applications for its low complexity and high efficiency. In this paper, a novel CSS-FDE approach is proposed to resist the multipath fading degradation, which consists of the cyclic prefix insertion (CPI) designed for the channel estimation, the equalization criterion based on the computational load and the chirp demodulation. Theoretical analysis and simulation results show that this approach can significantly enhance the performance of the traditional CSS in the multipath fading channels. With its low computational cost and high equalization precision, the CSS-FDE can be conveniently applied in practice.
