Abstract
This paper will talk about how legacy systems can be upgraded in terms of switching. A review of switching configurations, architectures, and questions to ask of suppliers will be discussed. PXI will be highlighted as a logical replacement and the LXI architecture will be discussed as an up and coming standard. Both will be presented as ways to migrate to a newer architecture and shrink systems footprints in many cases
