Abstract
The application of spatial division multiple access (SDMA) to mobile communication systems have been previously examined. In this case, it is necessary to realize a "smart" antenna with both transmitting and receiving functions. So far, various digital beam forming (DBF) techniques for reception have been discussed. However, DBF techniques for transmission have not been discussed much. We have realized and evaluated a DBF equipment for transmission. It is capable of forming multi-beams and scanning them independently. We present about outline of the design and test results.
