Abstract
The higher order statistics based VESPA (virtual ESPRIT algorithm) has been shown to be a very powerful technique for blind beamforming and signal detection. It can detect coherent signals. Also, it is shown that that it can detect uncorrelated signals better than classical methods. Thus, this technique can be efficiently used in some severe situations such as multi-user signals propagating in multipath media using arrays of arbitrary configurations.
