Abstract :
Multipath routing is one of the applied approaches in wireless mesh networks to address their limited bandwidth and high route breakage rate. Unfortunately, in wireless mesh network environments, particularly for real-time video streaming transmission, this approach may suffer greatly from channel interference due to the simultaneous transmission of packets via multiple routes. In this paper, we propose multi-channel multipath routing protocol (MM-DSR) based on dynamic source routing (DSR). In MM-DSR, all nodes are assigned two different frequency bands to eliminate interpath interference. Simulation results show that, compared with single channel SMR, MM-DSR could greatly enhance the wireless mesh network performance of video streaming transmission.
