Abstract
A model of the carotid vascular system (CVS) was developed in ongoing research on a method for early detection of stroke and glaucoma. The model describes the hemodynamic regulation of the left side of the CVS without stenosis and yields on ocular-blood-pressure waveform as a function of an aorta-blood-pressure waveform. The validity of this model is shown. The model is consistent with published clinical studies, while revealing details not available in previous experimental results.<>
