Determining the maintenance functions and operation processes of each aircraft maintenance level is a necessary input condition on maintainability analysis. Based on the definition of maintenance functions analysis process, this paper comparatively analyzes the Three Level Maintenance (3LM) and Two Level Maintenance (2LM) functions. Considering standards and depth of Reliability Maintainability Design, we discuss the traditional 2LM functions and operation processes, and further make sure of 2LM functions and operation process. Research results have some values in planning maintenance levels for new aircraft and reducing maintenance levels for active aircraft.
