Abstract :
This paper reports on the control necessary in a Bristol cylinder sea-wave energy capture device and the issues concerned with harvesting a slow, propagating sea-wave, where the power will pulsate. In the paper a detailed description is put forward for the mechanical system. The control strategies necessary to control a system that is has continuously changing conditions are outlined and simulations are carried out using MATLAB/Simulink, which are put forward to illustrate the system control.
