Abstract
In this paper,we propose a novel energy efficient tree (EET), which can minimize the data aggregation latency and balance the energy consumption among the sensor nodes at the same time. In EET, the source node with the highest residual energy is chosen as the root in the monitored area, while other source nodes choose their corresponding parent node among their neighbors based on the information of the residual energy and maximum- energy shortest path to the root. The simulation results show that EET can significantly prolong the lifetime of the nodes in sensing region compared to other existing works.
