Abstract :
The authors conclude that the influence of VHF improves the sowing qualities of the seeds of cabbage, carrot, onion, and tomatoes, and it reduces the number of cases of affection with infectious diseases. Experimental works were also carried considering the investigation of resonance influence of electromagnetic waves (low intensity VHF power 5-7 μW/cm-2) on the seeds of tomatoes and cucumbers in the greenhouses of the Institute of Defence of Plants. The results showed that treating seeds with VHF electromagnetic waves of low intensity improves the seed sowing qualities, helps quicker growth of the plants, increases their photosynthetic apparatus, and the plants productivity was increased by 10- 12% in comparison with controls. The authors would especially like to stress that the above described effective new biotechnology of seed treatment before sowing is ecologically safe and needs only small amounts of energy
