    Aimed at stagnation and lag of support capability when systems are deployed, a method on supportability based on capability is proposed. Starting from the capability, a process of forming supportability parameter systems is proposed as follows. Support capability need is decomposed from mission needs; support capability need is transformed to support performances; support performance transformed to support characteristic. The relationship among support capability, support performance and support characteristic parameters is given by their mapping model. Supportability parameter systems based on capability reflect materiel at different time, different product levels and different phases which support capability forms.
