Abstract
Although a number of tools have been made available to assist in the development of 2-D image processing applications, tools for processing volume graphics and video sequences are relatively scarce. This paper proposes a small set of programming abstractions for processing volume graphics and video sequences, based on simple generalisations of abstractions currently available for 2-D image processing. The paper outlines the abstractions and illustrates their use
