Abstract
The formalized method is presented for improving the accuracy and efficiency of sculling correction algorithms as opposed to the conventional methods using angular increment and velocity increment as input signals. The key point of the new algorithm is the use of angular rate and specific force output from sensors to design optimal coefficients which is suitable for modern-day strapdown inertial navigation systems. The error criterion of the new algorithm is derived to analyze algorithm accuracy. Comparing to the conventional ones, the accuracy of new algorithms can be improved at least two orders of magnitude under the classical sculling motion.
