Abstract
Wireless sensor network is becoming a new method for monitoring emergency events due to its capabilities of wide monitoring range, self organizing and incessantly working. A model of emergency events monitoring system based on wireless sensor network was presented. The work flow of monitoring system was elaborated at first. Then some requirements were presented according to system demands, which consist of realtime monitoring, situation forecasting, intelligent scheduling and so on. Meanwhile, feasible solutions including sensitive and reliable hardware, intelligence nodes dispatching algorithm, controlled and self-adapting MAC protocol, congestion avoiding and robust routing protocol, data fusion and real-time locating were discussed in detail.
