Abstract :
The relations connecting the amplitude and phase of the hydromagnetic waves above the ionosphere with the impedance of the Earth are obtained. It is shown that at large distances from the incident hydromagnetic wave beam axis the apparent resistivity depends mostly on the features of the geoelectrical section, and practically does not depend on the distribution of the field inside the beam. The `above-ionospheric´ curves of apparent resistivity are calculated for middle latitude pulsations excited by the field-line resonance oscillations. It is found that information about geoelectric profile may be obtained from the polarization pattern of the fields at satellite heights and also from simultaneous ground-based and satellite magnetometric observations
