  • Abstract
Ultra wide band (UWB) systems induce interference on communication systems operating at range frequency from 0 to 10.6 GHz. This is the reason leading to an accurate choice of the pulse shape in order to avoid severe interference and to respect systems coexistence. FCC and ETSI gave indications about the spectral limits to be respected, so, in this regard, the goal should be to tit the spectral mask. The choice of Gaussian-like pulses is largely suboptimal from a power emission point of view since they are unable to maximize the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). The goal of this contribution is to achieve a good compromise between spectral emission and synchronization errors robustness via a modified version of the Parks-McClellan method.
