We analyze the role of technology transfer in enhancing the technical efficiency of China´s high-tech industry using stochastic frontier production function model. The results show that the introduction of foreign technology and foreign direct investment significantly promote the technical efficiency of high-tech industry, but the acquisition of domestic technology has no significant impact on the technical efficiency. There are significant regional differences in the technical efficiency of hightech industry in China. The technical efficiency of the eastern region is much higher than that of the central and western regions.
