Abstract
The problem of electromagnetic shielding has been treated in the case of a metallic enclosure, as well as the shielding effectiveness for different materials. In this study, we re-derive the results which have been found in our previous work. However, we propose a simulation tool for deriving shielding effectiveness. The typical shielding materials used are the copper, aluminum and steel. We have also conducted a comparative study between these different types of materials, the results obtained are presented. It is shown that materials are not equivalent to reduce electromagnetic fields. Shielding effectiveness depends on the material´s parameters. The properties of the material shielding contribute significantly to the efficiency and the distance from the source of disturbance.
